Thanh is licensed by the MA state and recognized by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He holds the master degree of Acupuncture and the master degree of Oriental Medicine from New England School of Acupuncture ( MCPHS), the oldest acupuncture school in the country. His training includes Chinese, Orthopedic Acupuncture, Tui Na (Chinese Bodywork), Qi-Gong, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He has practiced at several hospitals and clinics in the Boston area including CHA Malden Family Medicine Center and the New England School of Acupuncture Teaching Clinic (Newton Campus).
    Before coming to the USA, He received BS computer science and Acupuncture Physician and Oriental Medicine from Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University in Vietnam. He worked for the hospital and managed ThoThaiDuong clinic  in VietNam. He has a very strong academic background about the acupuncture with the advance techniques.
